Another Season

It was a particularly hard winter, like one we’ve never seen before and not just in terms of weather. The atmosphere was abnormally oppressive. In my nose to the grindstone existence, I forgot all about spring. I’m usually waiting anxiously for the tiniest bit of green to show, and that’s all it takes before I’m digging and pulling, raking and planting. I can’t wait to get into the garden. But this year I lost all track of time.

Then just like that, the wheel turned and the snow melted. The earth exhaled green while I was sleeping and I woke up surprised. Roses are blooming as if they’ve never been so happy to feel warm again and perhaps didn’t believe they ever would.

I’ve been wondering around pleasantly confused at the sudden change. I guess some part of me forgot spring would come again. Life is like that sometimes isn’t it? But the wheel always turns, spring into winter, winter to spring. No matter the circumstances, just wait around a little bit; The weather will change.

Our valet, the bell weather for our home is marking the occasion as well and I’m heading out to the garden.

Eccles:3
For everything there is a season, and a time for every [a]purpose under heaven: 2 a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; 3 a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4 a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 5 a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 6 a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; 7 a time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; 8 a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace.
